Apple Scroll Pull Apart
2 Tier Cake
The kit includes 2 cupcakes, 3 small cakes, 3 piping bags and nozzles with multi-coloured icing, sprinkles, mini marshmallows, choc chips. The tutorials here will help guide your kid’s creations.
The kit includes a bamboo roller, sushi rice for 3 rolls, 3 sheets of seaweed, sliced veggies (carrots, cucumber, avocado, capsicum), tuna. Chopsticks and soy sauce. Please watch the video for guidance on making your sushi.
Place a cup of water and 2-3 tablespoons of vinegar in a bowl so you can dip your hands when assembling your sushi. This will keep the rice from sticking to your hands.
Cover your bamboo mat with plastic wrap to prevent rice from sticking to it.
Position a sheet of seaweed shiny side down on your covered bamboo mat. (If you are making an inside out roll, it doesn’t matter which side of your seaweed faces down because it will be inside the roll.)
Dip hands in the vinegar water mixture to prevent sticking.
Grab a small handful of sushi rice. Cover bottom three-quarters of seaweed sheet with thin layer of rice, leaving the top quarter of the seaweed sheet empty. (It is this empty section that will seal the roll together.)
Make a groove along the length of the rice.
Lay a thin layer of vegetables and/or tuna in the groove on top of rice on the bottom third of the seaweed sheet.
Begin rolling your sushi roll by putting the tips of the four fingers of each hand on top of sushi ingredients to hold them in place while keeping both thumbs on the back of the bamboo rolling mat closest to you, as in the video.
Push the mat forward until the mat is completely around the sushi roll and until the top and bottom edges of the seaweed meet.
Pull your four fingers out from the mat and roll.
Continue to roll the sushi mat in a circle around the ingredients. Avoid pressing too hard. The mat can be used to shape your sushi into a nice long, round roll, but be gentle or you’ll have a heavy rice log.
Set your first sushi roll on a plate. Make as many additional rolls as you like. Let them set for a few minutes prior to cutting. This will help the rice and ingredients stick and gel in shape.
To cut your sushi roll, place one sushi roll on your cutting board. Using a very sharp knife, gently cut each sushi roll in half, cutting down and through. Place the two halves above and below each other, and cut each section into three pieces, leaving six bite-sized sushi morsels. Place the sushi on a plate.
Repeat until all of your sushi rolls are cut into bite-sized pieces.

Kit includes dough for apple scroll pull apart and cinnamon scrolls; an apple, sultanas, cinnamon sugar, egg and kids apron.
Please follow the steps below:
Preheat oven to 175C.
On a floured surface, roll out the dough into a rectangle until dough is a 1/2 cm thick.
If the dough is too tough to work with, let it rest for 10 minutes then try again.
The length of the rectangle should be slightly more than the width.
You can trim off extra dough to make it a rectangle. Place a line of apple slices 1/3 of the way from the bottom of the rectangle.
There should be enough space below the apples to fold the dough over them.
Sprinkle 1 tbsp. of cinnamon sugar over the apples.
Fold the dough over and repeat two more times.
There may only be enough space for 2 rows of apples, and that’s okay.
If there is any extra dough at the top, fold it over the rest of the roll.
Cut the roll into 8 sections.
Place each section in a greased round tin with the sides facing up & down (see in the video).
Place an apple slice between each section.
Baste with egg and sprinkle with raw sugar.
Rest 45 mins then bake for 30-35 minutes on middle oven rack, or until top is golden to your liking.
